What is Available?

Factor 1 - Storage Capacity
16GB, 32GB or 64GB. Buy what you can afford.
Things to Consider:
- iPhone Apps (which are relatively small)
- Photos & wallpapers
- Music
- Videos (will you be streaming these from the Net?)
Factor 2 - 3G or Not
By adding 3G it will cost you an extra $130 in the United States. But you get GPS. It all depends on your local telecommunications network and their 3G rates - so do some research.
No 3G equals No GPS. No cool mapping apps for you.
To get connectivity your only option is to use a local Wi-Fi hotspot. Will you be near one when you need to use it or not?

iPads Available to Buy on Amazon
Things to Watch Out for on Ebay & Amazon
People... have a funny way of turning something simple, into something extraordinarily complex.
- When you search eBay you will have 600+ products coming at you that are simply domain names with "ipad" in it.
- 300+ email accounts at Gmail with "ipad" in it.
- People selling mock-up cardboard cut-outs of the iPad that they copied from the release day (for a low price of $29.95 US).
- Batteries... the battery is built-in and is built off of the high tech thin batteries cells from the MacBook. So why are their 100's of results for iPad batteries? Well they are actually for some mobile phone - not your Apple iPad.
Is there an Easier Choice?
Yes

Steve Jobs introducing the iPad
Today is the big day: Apple is scheduled to announce its “latest creation” at a San Francisco event at 10 a.m. Pacific Time. I’m here at the Yerba Buena Center for the Arts, seated among a large turnout of press. People are still looking for seats and classic rock tracks are being played.
On the stage, in front of a large screen with an Apple logo on it, sits a single leather chair and a small round end table. Made to almost look like a space where someone might sit to read the paper, a magazine or a book, I can’t help but wonder if my coffee table tablet theory might just be right.
The play-by-play:
11:35 a.m.: My verdict. The price point makes it interesting but I’m still not convinced that this device is bringing anything really new to the game. The apps are a bit enhanced but beyond that, it does pretty much everything I can already do with my Macbook and iPod Touch. The hype was bigger than the event or product.
